As announced, EA has released the first major update for the C&C Remastered Collection. Important changes affect the stutters in the game, but the changes also affect mod compatibility. We have compiled all changes for you including patch notes.

Last week, EA had already given an outlook on the changes that the first major update for the C&C Remastered Collection will bring. After the first changes to the multiplayer are already through, the update has now been released on Steam and Origin.

C&C Remastered: Two important topics in the update
On the one hand, EA wants to announce the fight with the first update to the stutters with which some players have to fight. It was obviously difficult to address the problem. And so the solution for this is provided with a small blemish. EA needs to rework the way textures are loaded from the game and now have to do most of the loading before the gameplay. This means that loading the entire game and loading the first card may take longer than before. These longer loading times are said to occur most often after restarting the computer. While EA is aware that this additional charging time may not be ideal, internal tests indicate that performance is improving across the board.

Mod compatibility is also affected by the first update. Because the patch contains updates to the TiberianDawn.dll and RedAlert.dll files, EA believes that previous mods are no longer compatible with the updated version of the game. Modders must update their works with the latest code and refresh them in the Steam workshop. Certain mods may also need to be repacked to be compatible with the new texture process above. EA has provided a script to help you with this. It is located in the main installation directory of the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection in the “SOURCECODE / SCRIPTS” folder. A revised mod in the Steam Workshop will not be updated automatically. You have to deactivate the mods in the mods menu first,
